Love the dissonance in the piano melody. I thought I heard some clipping but then I realized it was just a fuzzy synth! Way to keep me guessing :)

    2. Son of Akira on August 05, 2009 08:51

@in Study: yeah it's the high end of that 'wamp wamp' I think, pretty hot

I love the cymbal sounds, so simple yet effective. Actually, all your drum programming is great. I got the feeling though, the drums are a bit too loud compared to the keys.

    2. Lazy Driftah on June 30, 2009 04:20

@clearcut: good ear man. another person has told me the samething... I will definitely have to remedy the problem :)

    3. scalamanderr on July 02, 2009 07:10

@Lazy Driftah: Yeah I mean the drums could be a bit quieter, but I almost like the overpowering of drums. hmmm, conflict!

    4. Lazy Driftah on July 02, 2009 11:35

@scalamanderr: conflict... the story of our lives... D:

I love how the piano melody has been doing the same thing the entire time and the drums go off an a tangent like they're two songs. And then the morph back together very seamlessly. Expertly done!

i think another element could drop right here, i mean an additional element, it's the perfect timing and set up right before, was actually surprised ti didn't

    2. Lazy Driftah on June 02, 2009 12:39

@Son of Akira: What kind of element did you have in mind. Another type of percussion or....???

    3. Son of Akira on June 13, 2009 05:34

@45-111 / lazy driftah: I was thinking something more instrumental, like maybe one of the elements from the second half; maybe filtered so it slowly 'opens up', or just more minimal in general, if that's makes sense

    4. djsAro on September 18, 2009 13:17

@Lazy Driftah: I'd agree on adding something like a mid-high freq lead of some sort. You could also introduce those cymbals that come in in the next phrase.

i like how you bring in the chorus vocals here which then increase in intensity with the percussion as the track progresses from here.

    1. Son of Akira on May 30, 2009 20:08

very nice through and through, another idea I had is that maybe the heavier bass should come back at some point in the second section, or do something more dramatic right before the second section starts, or both... or neither lol... just some minor ideas

    2. Lazy Driftah on June 02, 2009 12:42

@Son of Akira: I felt the same way. It needs something to add dynamically to help lift the track Love the ideas and it's good to see ya around here again :)

    3. Son of Akira on June 13, 2009 05:35

@45-111 / lazy driftah: the bass coming back heavy towards the end for a sort of crescendo effect might be nice... and yeah, apologies for not being as active re cently :)

    4. Son of Akira on June 16, 2009 12:39

@45-111 / lazy driftah: wtf weird, I totally responded to both these comments a couple days ago and now they both disappeared... ?

...to here it seems a bit empty.

    2. Lazy Driftah on February 22, 2009 17:15

@Wendeburg: I was hoping someone had noticed. I'm trying to decide on what to fill it with due to it happening right before the break... A new instrument? A fade out? Any ideas?

    3. Wendeburg on February 22, 2009 19:12

@45-111 / lazy driftah: hmm, maybe drums only... then the following part seems bigger... or maybe the 4 bars without drums. You should try it, but maybe i´m wrong.

    4. Lazy Driftah on March 04, 2009 05:25

@Wendeburg: Man, the drums have to come a long way. I still plan to slice them up a bit for a little more variation. I just have to find the time... :(

    5. ENFPaudiovisual on March 30, 2009 21:33

@Wendeburg: Even the reverse might work, build up the drums and then release rather than slowly break it down

@starkaudio: mail me the story, maybe i can illustrate it...

    3. Lazy Driftah on February 23, 2009 23:37

@starkaudio: seriously on the story!!! I have some crits on the drums clashing and was wondering if you see it that way as well?

Type your comment here ok, so i'm a big jazz head, so ignore this at your will. this tune is awesome, i love the repitivity and the subtle changes throughout, but like, what maybe could work would be a sudden change to something half way through, and then break back into the main melody. love the end though, its ideal!
