About
lax-o-mat is composed of two people from Germany:
Yakumo primary comes from Oldschool-Electro-Scene and deserted later to Dancehall (12monkey*sound). He handicrafted with early-versions of Logic and gathereded some experience with voices and bands. He created Riddims and Dancehall-beats. Meanwhile he was influenced by LFO, Aphex Twin und Funkstörung.
Keimling comes from the tracker-scene, where songs are made out of dulcet 8-bit mono samples. Pure Techno-freak at the beginning, he changed after a longer pause to guitar. With that his preference deferred to Rock and later Drum'nBass. Because it isn't important for Keimling from which genre a song comes (only had to be good), for him it could be everything between Schlagermusik and Hardcore. At the project he is infuenced by Prodigy and Chemical Brothers.
The guys met in 2004 and realized that their common affectation are special sounds. After creating a first song together on a nice chill-evening, they aware the completion of each other. Keimling works mostly on structures and harmonies, Yakumo is the man for noises and breakes conventions.
The only important is: never sound easy, never destroy the groove. With these different characters and influences are songs formed with a whide electronic bandwith. Minimal Techno, Drum'nBass, Industrial, Triphop and experimenal things mixed with a peace of Dancehall.
In 2006 the project became more intensive. A name was found and studio equipped. The goal to perform live was complied with the album "Tamoxal - 3x täglich" (means "Tamoxal - 3 times a day") finished in april 2008. This music should be free accessable and should cost nothing. So we licenced all under Creative Commons and found with Moodsplateau a netlabel that is equal to our ideas. A properly nice-label. :o)
