My introduction to music came at an early age through my dad’s extensive record collection. At 4 years old I began to study classical piano through the Japanese Suzuki method; a philosophy in which music is seen as a language that children can learn in a similar way to their mother tongue. This practice has stayed with me ever since. As a teenager, I turned his attention to percussion, studying and performing jazz, rock, soul, African and Afro-Cuban music before returning to my classical studies at university where I majored in composition. It was here, however, that I discovered the expansive and seductive world of technology; synthesizers, drum machines, Techno and club culture. Since then, I has relentlessly pursued this direction with passion, producing and performing my own deep, funky and hypnotic electronic sound.
I play as part of Capes & Shudders Capesandshudders and produce my own solo work for installation, film and live performance.
