Man of the moment, Mikill Pane’s new EP, The Morris Dancer, will be released through Invader Music on 13th February. The five-track EP includes a track entitled Cut Back, which features vocals from Ursa Minor’s Little Bear and is currently being used in an Nation wide O2 Academy /Fair Share Music campaign.
The release will be supported with a free launch party at The Book Club, East London on 25th January. Mikill will be joined on the night by Ursa Minor (Little Bear) performing a special stripped-back set and Jacksun Fear DJ’s – providing a soundtrack of hip-hop and electronica.
2011 saw Mikill Pane tour extensively with collaborator and friend Ed Sheeran. Pane’s services have also been sought in the form of tour support, by none other than rising star U.S. rapper Mac Miller. Add four EPs, one with twice Mercury-nominated drummer/producer Seb Rochford, to the burgeoning list of Mikill’s accomplishments and a bright 2012 looks set to follow. Forthcoming gigs include HMV’s Next Big Thing in February. His debut album, Blame Miss Barclay is also set for release later this year.
