INTRODUCING LANIE LANE - VINTAGE POP WITH PANACHE
Adding sass to the smoky, sultry sounds of a bygone era, Sydney songstress Lanie Lane draws on the past and plants it very firmly in the here and now. Imbued with the spirit of Muddy Waters, channeling the class of Doris Day and sparkling with the pizzazz of The Andrews Sisters, Lanie wraps the sounds of a golden age around a voice that is as rich and warm as it is sweet. Her delivery is distinct - earthy, with the elbow grease to get the job done, but tied up with a colourful ribbon and handed over with grace and charm.
Having grown up surrounded by blues, jazz, folk and soul, it’s no surprise Lanie has taken the classic sounds of the 30s, 40s and 50s and made them her own. Musical signposts though, are only surface grime.
