Need a gift for a gifted musician?
You want to know the truth about who I am? Ok here it is.
When I was about 7 or 8 years old I fell in love with music. I fell for the art form the way an infant would fall for it’s mothers warmth. It would nurture me like a child too, & we would share a natural bond with one another. Shit, Being a snotty nosed Puerto Rican kid from Brooklyn, New York, making noise was all anyone knew how to do around here. I would go on to be no different.
Momma dukes was an opera singer. She had a voice on her that made the angels sound like wailing banshees. I’d place my money on that lady against all odds. I still haven’t found a voice that could top hers. For my older cousins (who I looked up to very much) the front stoop was a stage, & for a long time it would be one they would crowd around kicking flows over hip hop instrumentals to kill the time. They filled the streets with sultry sounds that would turn the head of anyone who had a pair of ears. The aura was that good. As for me? I was the big eyed kid who always looked forward to seeing them all do their thing! But it was only a matter of time before I would decide to venture out , & find a voice of my own.
I begun my musical conquest as a hip hoper , A clever wordsmith who crafted poetry in motion. Each morning my heart would beat to a different rhythm , & a multitude of flows would bombard my brain. However the more , & more that I submerged into hip hops dark ocean the less I felt like this was where I belonged. I had a light inside me would go unnoticed underneath “the wave.”
At the age of 18 I would decide that I wanted to become a singer. I had the voice for it to. I believed It was my calling, & was time I put this sweet voice I had to good use. With the help of my music manager Ricardo Rodriguez a music studio was built. There my light shined it’s brightest untainted by the shadows present in todays music. The rest is history.
Now here we are 2 years later. I’m now 20 years old making my presence know throughout my city, & soon the world. My ultimate goal is to make a positive change in music , & get signed to a major recording company. I vowed to make my mother proud , & this is without a doubt my one way to do so.
