Part my of my recurring project: Heptameron by lakshmi r.

When I set out to write this song on Wednesday, I wanted to write a song whose lyrical structure and chord progression reflected the content of the words themselves. To that end, the chorus actually changes each time in order to convey the ideas of the words themselves and the chord progression creates - I think - a forward-feeling backing. I also wanted to write something very simple in contrast to the previous day's tune.

This song is about and dedicated to Maurice Pechet, a very dear and close friend who passed away last week at the age of 94, and whom I should have told just how important he was to me throughout my life.

This is very much a draft and I would love to hear feedback. Guitar/keyboard/vox = me

    Lyrics:

Calm in a storm on the waves
    Waiting for something.
    Nothing.
    Waiting.

    Slow motion, slow motion.

How does the wind know my name?
Calling to me through the night,
    Waiting

    Slow motion, slow motion forward.

There is no resisting open water
Sunlight on the ocean floor is waiting.

Slow motion forward into the waves.
