Toronto area Dj and Producer would like to introduce you to another side of his Musical efforts.. While many people recognize Lairdriver’s House, Electro and original works, all but his closest friends were aware of his Downtempo work. Lairdriver has been actively producing Downtempo since early 2005 and has built up a substantial library of Compositions. In this genre, he can exercise a freedom of Musicality that just isn’t possible with the other genres he produces such as House and Techno.

Taking Piano lessons from the early age of 4, he began writing full-fledged compositions at the age of 13. This reflects in his Downtempo arrangements and reflects his Classical and Blues disciplines. Hi style of Downtempo is difficult to define, ranging from Trip Hop, Nu School Jazz, Ambient and Hip Hop itself. In 2010 Lairdriver began producing Hip Hop beats for a Niagara Falls, Ontario based group called Youth Under Pressure (YUP). Exercising his versatility and penchant for new challenges yet again. Youth Under Pressure’s stock is rising, stocked with talented MC’s and Beatmakers.

The inspiration for Lairdriver’s Downtempo compositions come from a variety of sources. Dreams, Visions, Aspirations, and songs he imagines into life. He views his Musical compositions in this genre, as creating his own Universe of sound. It is a true reflection of his emotional and mental state.

Lairdriver has goals of reaching into the Television and Film Industry for sound design and a desire to spread his Music through the traditional route. He also hopes to familiarize people with his Downtempo works, who are already familiar with his Lairdriver work. Viewing this style of Music with a completely different set of audio eyes and ears is so critical to capturing the intensity of a genre that quite literally has no borders. Over the next couple of months Lairdriver will start releasing – or unleashing – the sound he has been crafting for over half a decade.

His hopes are that people enjoy his new works and see them not necessarily as another side to him – but one piece in a puzzle that makes up the whole being. This is a style of Music that can penetrate even the hardest of hearts, the saddest of the sad, and everything else in between.. this is the other side of Lairdrivers World.
