About
Born and raised between the two banks of the musical river Styx, one abound with motown and discoid tracks, the other with synthetic, wavy and electronic sounds, La Mverte now finds himself at the confluence of these influences. With varied and various mentors, he sails across dark waters and hell's circles, seeking unknown territories and follows simultaneously several paths that have in common the love of music without compromise.
La Mverte has also been involved in Anteros & Thanaton, a project he co-created with his partner for almost two years now. They already produced several remixes and great parties. The project is paused now.
Together, Anteros & Thanaton organized and enjoyed a year-long residence, RETROGRADE, at Chez Moune in Paris. Amidst the drinking and merriment there was much disco, italo-disco and good music. They invited DJs such as Alexis Le Tan, Get a Room!, Speculator (NYC), Acid Washed, Krikor, Appaloosa (live), Gesaffelstein, Chateau Marmont (live and DJ), Dirty Sound System, Ben Rymer (Disco Bloodbath), Hugo Capablanca, Arnaud Rebotini… to play alongside them. This season was highlighted by a special edition RETROGRADE at the Social Club with the infamous DJ HARVEY.
Beyond RETROGRADE, the duo plays all over Paris, alongside DJs and musicians like Padded Cell, the Magician or Cosmo Vitelli (and Bot'ox).
They’ve played venues like the Regine's, Nouveau Casino, Social Club, La
Java, and also in small, wet, hot spots like the Curio Parlor or the ZeroZero. Overseas they’ve played with Runaway (DFA), Populette and more at Le Bain Standard Hotel, the subMercer or the Hotel Chantelle in NYC.
On his side, La Mverte continues to explore and develop his own conception of music and his universe. He was a part of the great collaboration alongside Hugo Capablanca and Philipp Gorbachev, which led to feature on Matias Aguayo’s Còmeme imprint with the track “ Berlin esta helado “. With Hugo Capablanca, he launched the OCVLTO ceremonies, between Berlin and Paris, and more to come. He also launched his Opera de Nuit residency in Paris, Chez Moune. He’s now working of his first EP, hopefully out soon.
