You have great composition skills man, but I think your sound quality would improve a lot if only boosted high frequencies on drums later in the mixing process. Compressed high frequencies at loud levels destroy any detail or depth the track could have.
@Siraz: That's exactly the Rob Mayth melody.
This one is quite nice.
Fix your compressor, my bro...
Very happy to hear an updated version that's so faithful to the original.
woah cool melody!
A common problem with your mixes is too much brightness. A/B with a Manian track or something else good-sounding to see what I mean.
One of the best piano breakdowns ever.
Nice and oldschool!
Damn though I didn't even notice you the odd phrase lengths before. Clever stuff.
Obvious winner right here.
@yodawuzhere: I played piano at one point in my life but this was done with a mouse. Getting the velocities right took a while.
@AlejZ: He just has the midi.
Listening on headphones I'm noticing a lack of dynamics in the high frequencies. It's particularly obvious on the snare, which has a sustained hiss. This could very well be a result of mastering. Just pay attention to how quickly your highs decay next time.
@soundartz: I understand. But I think it's good enough.
Will your music be on SOUND VOLTEX? I don't understand.
I was hoping for a more original melody.
This sounds really great.
I keep expecting it to go into the DJ Toxic - It's Killing Me melody. Don't stop doing this.
Molky Style :p
@jk project: +1
@Morty Simmons: If you think it's counterproductive to belittle the rare examples of effortful/professional music in this scene, then don't do it.
@Morty Simmons: I think you're being inconsistent, and I'm willing to elaborate privately if you want. I just wish you would be so brutally honest with your friends and allies.
@Morty Simmons: I know this is a rhetorical question, but basically... THT has his own style of production/engineering/arrangement/sound selection which you rarely hear in a Mayth-inspired track. Everything in this remix is really thoughtful and not cookie-cutter, and there are a few new elements. Listen to the way the 2nd melody drops, for example.
Great job on this one!
We need one based on the Klaas remix though.
Masterful pop songwriting.
@Kyrandian: I'm too sick of hands up right now. It's challenging in the wrong ways. Making a style that's judged purely on sounds, mixing and needless complexity is just torture.
Is there an acapella of this somewhere? The vocal sounds a little thin here, but I can't imagine getting it this cleanly from the original song.
I really really really love this vocal and chord progression.
Really great mixing and sounds this time too.
