We love Him (God) because He first loved us. "For God SO LOVED the world THAT HE GAVE His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:16-17, nkjv emph. mine).

Contrary to what many high profile TV preachers say, we don’t give to get rich. We don’t worship God to get Him to come down. We respond to His love. We love Him because He first loved us. God has given us so much in giving us His Son! We are grateful and simply want to obey and express this to Him—that’s why we worship or give. We don’t work for salvation, but from salvation.
