where'd you get all these sounds!!!
-
@Wazuhiru: All the 8bits sounds come from the "38911bytes" plugin (an emulator), but at this exact time, the strings start to play (contrabass). therefore, I made a little mistake, so the version you downloaded was not correct. This one is fixed. Thank you for listening

Yeah the choice of melody works better with the strings. Nice.
-
@fatphil: Thank you (not that)fatphil. That's true that the melody plays beautifuly with strings. as I said just before, I've put the 8bit lead a bit more in the mix so i hope that the melody in the chiptune part is more to your liking.

nice tune, mate...agreed, the strings're spot on...!
-
@thedeadsoul: what's really impressive is the the strings are actually playing the exact same patterns as the 8 bit parts. Right @kronsilds ???
-
@fatphil: You get it fatphil ! The strings play the same parts except the arpeggios, but two time slower.
-
@thedeadsoul: hey thank you! I may should try to mix a bit more 8 bit sounds with orchestral one :)

I'm not sure we learn anything new from this point on. I think I would have ended the song here, by joining the previous calm section with your final end section. But it is a a very chillout track so it doesn't matter if it's longer anyway :o)
-
@fatphil: hahaha! You're right. That was just because with doubling the length of the calm part, the final full part was just too short. Instead of removing it...

I like this calm bit, maybe you can use it in the middle too, as the mix is very full at the moment :)
-
@fatphil: I put it in the middle of the track. Therefore, I've allonged the track a bit

great track! this reminds me so much of the early 90's act ENIGMA, however id say your stuff is better than theirs by far!
-
@jupiter31: Ho yes, thank you! their mix of gregorian and dance rythm was an excellent idea

I think you could add a whole other interesting part from here. The piano feels sad that you stopped it here. The piano wants to go on.! Free the piano!!!

@fatphil: hahaha ! okay, I will

La version précédente étant un peu trop triste, voici le même morceau qui, grâce à la magie de l'informatique, est passé en gamme majeure, le rendant plus joyeux :)Hang impromptu Uploaded by kronsilds Start following Send a message on September 26, 2009 12:05

I just imagined these two being a soundtrack to a game. There's, like, a sad and dark world, and a light rainbowy one. Both totally deserted.
-
@Wazuhiru: yes I can imagine that too! I'm happy that my music can create mindscape

Nice, I like this. Normally this would be a bit too 'Windham Hill' for my liking. But there's something else going on here.....
-
@Roof Light: yeah I see what you mean! May be it's because there's no pad? :D Anyway, Windham Hill was a great label ;)

Nice composition! But I think this part (and the one later on) is too uplifting in contrast to the mystic vibe in the song. But it really sounds interesting! Salut!
-
@Victorius: True. I think this track need a bit more work to have better progression and transition between the diferent parts. Thank you for the constructive comment
-
@kronsilds: Right on! You're definitely on to something. Glad to be constructive :)

Reminds me of my old Atari games!!! You chose a difficult mission with this track. Chiptunes take a lot of effort to sound good!
@fatphil: I didn't realise that all of the first half is 100% chiptune. That's amazing!
@fatphil: Yeah ! 100% chipsounds (with a bit of echo I used to do by replaying the same pattern with a lower volume and an 1/16th step after but done here with an Live effect). Anyway, I updated it so the lead sound is more in the mix now.
