I've been in or a part of the scene since i was 14 years old. Going to Afterhours clubs back when they were considered "Underground". I started out as a loyal follower and patron, always on the dance floor. A young socialite, always willing to make new friends. Back in those days, we listened to Hard House. Ie - Operation Blade, or TechnoRocker by Dj Balloon. Man I felt really old just typing that.
Moving forward as i grew up, I developed a love for more types of electronic music. I even heard some new genres, and that's when my life changed. SHAMBHALA 2008. I heard this new (to me) genre called Dubstep. I witnessed a sea of people lose themselves to this music at The Village stage. I knew I had to become more involved in this movement, any way I could.
So I got home after the festival, and did some research in to what it takes to be THAT GUY. THAT GUY that made us happy each night for an hour at a time. THAT GUY who made us move on the dance floor. THAT GUY who put his heart and soul in to making my night one to remember. And THAT GUY with the best tunes i've ever heard.
I started off as a bedroom Dj in my house. And after a while, I got good. And then I got even better. I showed serious support for my local scene, crews, and events. I eventually had the courage to ask for my first Set to play for a crowd. I give big thanks to Brenden TEN-O for giving me that chance. I must have done something right that night, because i got asked to play again. And at some point, the local group of people that run a weekly night called Eats n Beats, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada asked me to join their crew. My reply was a most very humble "OF COURSE!!".
I've been a weekly resident Dj now for almost 2 years, honing my craft and gaining experience. I've been invited to play Step'd Up on Saturdays @ Temple, and got my first headline spot for my Bachelor party in the same bar. I listen and play a wide variety of Music. I love and will play almost anything with Bass. I've even been known to play funky Breaks and Swing music. So I guess I'm a BASS MUSIC DJ, that can and will play anything and everything.
Much Love Everybody. And never forget that P.L.U.R. is where roots of this wonderful scene are embedded.
