Having propelled his way to notoriety with outstanding original productions and remixes for some of the industries most respected labels such as Southern Fried, Trouble & Bass and Laidback Luke’s Mixmash, Jay Robinson is enjoy a justified wave of attention that only looks set to snowball with his latest EP. A technically outstanding and universally pleasing journey through dubstep, electro, breaks and UK funky, Dig The Nu Breed looks set to burrow deep into the backbone of the electronic music scene upon it’s September release.
Opening up with the genre repelling Positive Vibes, a bass heavy, thumping electro masterpiece with smooth reggae vocals thrown in for good measure, the EP is off to a bouncing start.
Record bag staple Believe In The Hype is up next, a smoother track packed with chugging bass, warped dub and the speed and quality necessary to flip a main room set on its side at the peak hour. Flittering between House and Garage, this track doesn’t sit still for one second.
I Need Bass smashes its way into the tail end of the EP with some seriously heavy, twisted Dubstep sounds which easily holds it’s own as a dance floor anthem. There won’t be a dry seat in the house.
