The Bay Area Air Quality Management District's bike share pilot program is set to launch later this year. It includes placing 350 bikes at 35 stations in downtown San Francisco. San Francisco Supervisor Scott Weiner has introduced a resolution urging the city to move past the pilot program, and towards implementing a city-wide bike share system by next year. Weiner says the pilot program is a good start, but the city needs to quickly introduce hundreds more bicycles and stations throughout the city to have a successful program.
