A response team hoping to salvage a grounded drilling rig is being forced to wait out harsh weather conditions in the Gulf of Alaska. The Shell drilling rig known as the Kulluk is carrying 150,000 gallons of diesel and oil. It ran aground after crews transporting it were forced abandon the rig in the midst of a storm.
Meanwhile environmentalists continue to pressure President Obama to oppose Shell's plans for oil drilling in the Arctic. They say the grounding of the Kulluk demonstrates Shell's projects are too risky for the environment.
