Written after seeing Mark Lanegan at Manchester Cathedral with Isobel Campbell. The most incredible gig and venue, sadly cut short by some idiot setting fire to the bins outside... anyway, this is what happened...

    Cathedral in the setting sun
    Praying to the wandering ones
Treading past the point of no return
    As the actors pirouette
We light another cigarette and pray that maybe this time,
    She's the one...

No longer in the house of God
Tempered by the wave on rock
Eroded by the shadow in the dark...

You hear the rattling death train call, feel the aching in her bones
She's running from a decadence of soul...

    Reaching out for a meditation
To take the sting from the medication
    Never falter the invocation
    We will bleed...graciously my love...

Martyrs that have stained the glass,
We move into a second is stronger than before.
Winding down the empty road, to find a place to be alone
    A place where creativity explodes...

She pulls you tightly to her breast, offers you her sweet caress...
    Obligingly and willingly you fall...

    Reaching out for a complication
In the midst of a celebration
We are merely the augmentation, flames...
    That brought cathedrals burning down...
