Need a gift for a gifted musician?
A word which is used to describe a community of people sharing the same housing district has ironically became a household name within the Local Hip Hop scene in Oklahoma City "Kneighbourhood". The group consists of three members Courtney Hampton "Ayedoe8" Mike Huckeby "Huck Finn" and Terrence Jetter "Tedajet". All of which hail from different parts of the nation to have finally met in the town of Yukon. They quickly became friends growing up experiencing the same culture shock and confided in music as an expression of freedom. Ayedoe8 has been playing the piano since his young age and eventually became physically intuitive with the music then began producing beats. With his keen ability to play by ear, his semi automatic midwestern flow, and outstanding knowledge of music Ayedoe8 adds dynamite to the trio. When Huck Finn and Tedajet first met they were asked to sing together along with another long time friend in a choir class while in 8th grade and as fate would have it they began writing music together. With Tedajet's history of writing poetry he found himself using his talent to express hismelf as he dealt with the changes of his life through rhymes. Having nothing to lose Tdj taught himself how to produce music and tapped into a whole new realm of appreciation for music. His controversial witty lyrics, innovative thinking, and strong personality ignites a flame that can be seen for miles. Huck Finn brings intensity to the mic and stage fulfilling the combination of the three. Growing up as an only child naturally he saught out to be center stage, with an imagination fueled by inspiration and love of music he quickly channeled his energy through hip hop. Driven, energetic, and resourceful Finn completes the triangle that is Kneighbourhood. The three were all first put together on a stage during a karaoke contest at a high school fundraiser and turned it in to a party that created a friendship and partnership.
Their first performance as a group dates back to July 30th 2010 at Bora Bora Club and Venue. Since then they have recorded 5 different projects leading up to the unreleased "Blacklight America" debuting late 2013. Their style is nothing short of original bringing an old school feel to the new school era with soulful tracks like "Traffic Jam" to club tracks like the popular "Shake It Off". These young gentlemen have a drive to match their talents, whether its viral promotions or taking it to the streets, they know no boundries of getting their names out there. Coming together from 3 different perspectives to form Kneighbourhood.
