This is an excellent compilation. Thanks for putting it here! I'm 62 now. I grew up on a farm outside Potchefstroom in SA. In the late fifties and early sixties, every time my mum left the farm for the town, our gardener, Johannes, would come rushing into the kitchen and he'd grab the radio in one hand and me with his other hand. He'd put the radio on the windowsill - as far as the plug reached - where we could hear it outside, drag me outside, turn the station from SABC to Radio Bantu - and then we'd leap into the rosebed and churn up the red dust for a couple of hours, jiving and tjolling until ma's car came back over the horizon. Johannes taught me to love this music and to move to it with my whole heart. I was in Pretoria recently and I heard Stokvel Jive as I drove through the edge of the city. I stopped to listen... and caught the eye of someone nearby and they jigged and jived - smiling at me. Viva Africa, Viva to it's music! thanks again!
