Klassix From Paris became a DJ as an extension of his love of music, driven by his passion for discovering new songs and sharing them with others. Drawing on his massive interest in different musical cultures and styles rarely seen in todays DJ's, Klassix From Paris takes his listeners on a musical journey with his signature style.
Born in Algeria, North Africa, Klassix's rich musical heritage and mediterranean origins have shaped who he is today. After moving to France at the age of 11 he immersed himself in the discovery of a plethora of musical styles, starting with the Hip Hop and New Jack movement when he was 12. His love of music lead him to learn to dance, up until the age of 17, when he discovered electronic music and wanted to put other people on the dance floor instead of himself.
Living in a region boarded by Belgium and Germany, he started to be influenced by European electronic music and by 1995 he was DJing in several bars and clubs in the east of France and Luxembourg. In 1997, with the discovery ofUnited Kingdom garage, he was given a 4 night residency on a canal boat club (le Bullit), followed by a residency in an underground basement (Les 2 Zebres).
1999 brought the discovery of Lounge music with Hotel Costes and all the classy French bars and hotels in Paris like the Mezzanine de l'Alcazar and Bar-Fly. He got a residency in Lilltle Italy (Luxembourg). At the age of 22 he started DJing in the local gay night clubs (Privilege, L'aparte & Cafe de la Gare in Luxembourg), where the clientele allowed him to play an eclectic blend of pumping underground House with touch of Tech-House, Balearic and Latin sounds .
In 2001, he moved to Paris where his style became more eclectic, between Metro Area, Lovebirds, Spirit Catcher, Aeroplane, LCD Soundsystem, DJ T, Ian Pooley, Gilles Peterson, Stephane Pompougnac, DJ Freddy, Jim Baron, Dimitri from Paris and Joey Negro. In 2009 he met Franco-Argentinian duo Fritz & Lang who asked him to remix one of their tracks, starting a new direction of producing his own music. In 2011, after 10 years of teaching CAD & Mechanical engineering, he decided to change his career and move to New Zealand, to invest his energy in the music industry.
