very special moment with this transition. perfect place for "incomp"...incomp(lete) track you never wanted to complete. through this transition it gets an enormous piece of completeness.

-

-
@Walker_There_Is_No_Path: Last night, when my girl heard this track, she says it annoys her cause it is like the torture of the drop where you never know when the drop is going to hit your face. I think a whole set of randomness would be annoying but maybe it's a good track to annoy the dancefloor a little bit before giving them something more tight.

great melody part up to here. think you need to compensate that you put it away after 3 min. the change after that short break is too simple
-
@Campo: do you mean this part could be earlier in the track maybe? or do you mean I should add some more perc or something here?
-
@klarsk: both. maybe something that leads with a short staccato thing to the clap. and you change the melody at about 35 seconds. variations like this are interesting

what a tune - how do you get that freaky synth line?
-
@Walker_There_Is_No_Path: I wish I know. Clicking the mouse over the piano roll frenetically while praying.

cool panning sounds quality in the earphones
-
@Walker_There_Is_No_Path: I've mistaken the filter knob with the pan knob. Seriously I think I used a very simple free vst for autopanning there, but I used in the sample preproduction not on live. I should have an autopanning ready on live.

Is this really all YOUR stuff Federico? Really impressed man. Are you signed to a label? You need to get your arse over to North England man - you'd love Back to Basics in Leeds!
-
@Walker_There_Is_No_Path: Thanks, Mike. It's really all my stuff: the synths are completely programmed or reprogrammed, and the percussive samples are not original recorded by me (they are taken from free sample cds like the ones from CM magazine) but slightly or completed modified by some audio processors. There are just two "illegal" samples used here: the "humanoid/intruder" robot voice taken from the 1980's game Berzerk, and the japanese sentence taken from anime Ping Pong Club.
I'm not signed, I find it hard to understand where I can fit with my music. I'd love to be in Leeds, I'm very fond of England, the very few things I listened from Back to Basics are amazing! - AmirMargalit on July 08, 2009 08:04
@klarsk: federico, you are fuckin talented!!!! i love it!! and, it's ok to use samples dude... everyone, even the best and well knows artists do that. sometimes i go thru a sample library and find some loos that i recognize from well known tracks... so, it's cool.
-
@Amir M: Thanks, Amir! I'm amazed cause I think you are the fucking talented :) Yeah, we must relax about reusing samples and loops. Electronic music should not be an ego trip but a big world collaboration.
