KITTY CRIMES is the music puppy of Maria Kohler. Previous to the release of "Crimes of the Kitty: Volume One," some years of crafting other areas of musical interest in the Denver scene occured, ranging from the stoner pop rock quartet M and the Gems to the raunch filth pop enterouge Harpoontang. The new feline moniker of the electro hip hop identity Kitty Crimes is familiar and comfortable to her, cyphoning cyphers at will originating from the passion for rapping grown at thirteen years old.

Held in her musical heart as equals are Mykki Blanco and the Dirty Projectors, no hierarchy recognised amongst musical heroes Peaches, James Blake, and Josh Homme. You may or may not hear any of these contributing as an influence upon listening to any given song. No big deal or anything, but Kitty Crimes recently was refered to as a "sexy She-beast" with "swagger" by the God Fathers of Queer electro hip hop, Scream Club, supposedly.
