We developed this EP as a tribute to the music and culture of Champeta: past, present and future. We encourage you to seek out the artists we have sampled, as well as the releases from Palenque Records. Thanks to Palenque, the sound of Champeta has gained a worldwide audience. They have been instrumental in helping to preserve and distribute Afro-Colombia’s rich musical past and present. Big thanks to Caballo my coconspirator in Electro Champeta, Latino Resiste, Carlito Sway, Mike Couzzi, Gaby Duran, Trisha Cobos, Makina Del Karibe, Lucas Silva, Palenque Records and all the Champeta artists, Djs and fans that helped to inspire and educate us.
