About

Evan Scott aka Killafoe first discovered music at the age of 6, learning Piano from his father who is a professional musician. In his early teens he was in several punk and funk bands before his older brother introduced him to drum & bass. He was inspired to mix after attending his first all ages rave and was blown away by what he saw. He acquired his first set of decks soon after at the tender age of 14. After learning to DJ his attention quickly turned to production, it was around this time that he met up with Daniel Jensen Aka J Switch, and Killswitch was born.

Killswitch started out as a drum & bass duo drawing their inspiration from the likes of Limewax, Current Value and The Panacea. The early Killswitch sound is best described as dark and heavy, it then became darker and heavier, then darker and heavier!! In 2007 they had their first release (Loud Noize & JKM) on Distortion Recordings. This was quickly followed by a plethora of solo and Killswitch releases on Distortion, Mindsaw, Order in Khaos & Mindocracy Recordings.

Killafoe’s foray into dubstep began in early 2009 when he teamed up with long time friend and producer J.Nitrous. This dynamic duo went on to rack up several releases on such labels as Betamorph, Mass Execution & Abducted Dub, before J.Nitrous launced Hypnosis Recordings in 2010.

The first release on the new imprint was “Say You Need Me” by ‘Killafoe & J.Nitous feat. Kira’, with remixes by Smooth and Dubtek. The release smashed the charts and was supported all over the globe, catching the attention of some of the biggest players in the game. This was followed by the Killswitch ‘Night Terror E.P’ (feat Killafoe's track 'Give it') & The Killafoe Street Credit e.p (feat tracks 'Hatorade' and 'Fist Full of Bullets') on Hypnosis Recordings & the Killafoe & J.Nitrous Remix of SPL & Babylon System track 'Gangster' on Hollow
Point Records.

Killafoe’s sets are absolutely mental to say the least, his tight as fuck mixing and raw energy on stage are testament to the fact he is regarded as one of the most entertaining DJs in Perth. He has supported acts such as Excision & Datsik, Downlink, Nero, Labrynth, Rusko, SPL, Evol Intent, Triage, Skism, Audio, Current Value, Limewax, Raiden, The Panacea, Mayhem & Antiserum to name a few.

With a swag of solo releases in the pipeline his inevitable ascent into the upper echelons of global dubstep is well under way.
