My First TRUE promo mix that I really shopped around and pushed on people in Summer of 01. First mix I did where I really consciously tried to mix styles together in one CD. Hip-Hop, DnB, and Breaks (at the end). Again, a good snapshot of what I thought Soundlab was about at the time, turntablism, jungle, instro-hip-hop (and straight hip-hop), and the eclectic British break-y sound (the only things missing is Dancehall/Dub, which would come later for me, and techno, which never came.)

Funny tidbit was that Andy C's absolutely triplet anthem Body Rock had come out THAT DAY ... wasn't originally going to be on the mix but I stopped by Breakbeat Science on the way home to pick it up, and it made it on. From then on I always tried to include one tune that I'd gotten in the last day or so when I made the mix.

Anyway, this is the first mix I think stands the test of time, the first I'd want on my grave, so to speak. :) Enjoy.

PS - I just found the album artwork on an old promo copy the other day. It had a picture of Death (from Sandman) slyly saying "... and I heard a song and went in a taxi..." on it ... if I can find it again I'll upload it. Hence the titles pun, that Death is kind of Affected, but also this music was profoundly effecting me as well.
