Kenny Summit - U Got Me Up (COMING SOON!)
kennysummit on February 10, 2012 14:06
His productions range from up front house to techno and are being supported by the worlds biggest DJs (Axwell, Steve Angello, Fedde Le Grand, Roger Sanchez, Frankie Knuckles, Ferry Corsten, Paul Oakenfold, Armin Van Buuren, David Penn, DJ Chus, Tiesto, Above & Beyond and many more). KENNY’s ability to create a balance between tech, electro and soulful house has established a huge demand for his music as well as his DJ sets...
Kenny Summit first wet his proverbial chops at the legendary Zanzibar in Newark, New Jersey."It was teen night, all my friends were there.Aly-Us was performing 'Follow Me' and Black Moon was performing 'Who Got the Props'. It was my first time using a Urie and I remember asking how was I supposed to scratch using a knob mixer. You know, because back then, you spun everything; house, hiphop, funk, soul..." Next for Kenny was a chance booking at New York City's infamous Limelight where Kenny began a friendship with nightlife impresario Peter Gatien who paved the way for countless DJ opportunities. Kenny Summit has been a staple in the most unstable market in house music for nearly two decades. He has steadily worked as a DJ in the hottest clubs in Manhattan and gives no signs of stopping any time soon.
As a producer, Kenny is eclectic as demonstrated in his recent remix for David Penn (a top tune on Defected.com this year) which utilizes violin strings and a classic house beat to make a very musical soulful house track. On the other hand, Kenny's recent remix for friend Jason Jollins is an electro-tech house track featuring strong synth chords and a solid kick and percussion which delivers a mysterious driving quality to the track, ideal for a packed club with proper speakers at 3am. One thing is for sure, he makes tracks for DJs that are for the dancefloor and he is never limited by genre, proving true talent has no boundaries.
We look forward to hearing more from Kenny Summit in 2011.
