[Sorry, for now some songs are a bit quieter and some a bit louder than others. Volume control recommended!]

The notes I hope to hit: A cross between Sheryl Crow and the Spin Doctors, crafted for a Québec audience—a raw rock with strong vocals that draws on blues and folk music, and a little funkiness. At the moment, there’s only vocals (and a little drums I’ve played around with on a few tracks), but that’s about where I’d want the music to land. The message: A little humour, little love, little anger... flirty, a bit sexy, endlessly optimistic, but wise and a touch road-worn.

It has been suggested to me, that some folks might like English translations of my French songs. I hope to try to catch up a little at a time. Enjoy this fresh translation!

HERE ARE THE WAYS I DON’T WANT THIS TO END

Here are the ways I don't want this to end—
I don't want you to tell me I make A Good Friend
If the winds of change must take you
let them fool me to the end
Here are the ways I don't want this to end

Here are the reasons that this should never start—
I don't want your head to be in charge of my heart
If you can't come to me naked,
then thank God we're far apart
Here are the reasons that this should never start

Here are the things I know that won't last long—
The mystery, the history, and the song
If we don't jump in the deep end
we can't swim half so strong
Here are the things I know that won't last long

Reasoned expectations and babbled half-admissions fight
but neither can kiss my secrets in darkest night
If I won't risk the hurt and neither will you
Then maybe there's nothing here but a good friend or two

Here are the ways I don't want this to end—
I don't want you to tell me I make A Good Friend
If the winds of change must take you
let them fool me to the end
Here are the ways I don't want this to end

those drums are great, KellyAnne..it can't be easy to just sing along with drums...I thought you did very well...and I love when I listen to a song in a language other than English...I find the accents and words really cool :)

KA, other than your Janice Joplin performances, this is the best by far.

When i was a teenager I used to hang out on the beach in south Maroc, there were a lot of Frenchmen there avoiding the draft. 0ne particular guy used to entertain us with an African drum while his girlfriend sang- I loved it . This has taken me right back there. Love it Kellyanne.

@Anjù: Yes, I can imagine it with a djembe, that would fit well. :) Glad you like it, Anja!

@Kitchen Party House Band: Thanks, Roy. It's been kinda quiet 'round here, so if you've missed things it hasn't been much. :) And I'm trying to get my own SC listening back on track (along with working on new things finally), after being out of commission way too long. C'est la vie...

oh, wow, KellyAnne, loving this!! You should use some real percussion here, maybe a djembe :)

@telefan: Thanks Jim—I'm laughing because the first reaction I got on it from a friend this morning was "too quiet—this should be more angry!" But I like it quietish like this. Glad it works for you, too. :)

Voici... is the second completed song for Tout Sauf Toi ("Anything But You"), my planned album for the 2013 RPM Challenge.

(*What* Challenge, you ask? Minimum 10-song album, entirely written and recorded within the month of February: for more info, http://rpmchallenge.com/ )

      Enjoy!

      on nage à moitié force
