[Sorry, for now some songs are a bit quieter and some a bit louder than others. Volume control recommended!]

The notes I hope to hit: A cross between Sheryl Crow and the Spin Doctors, crafted for a Québec audience—a raw rock with strong vocals that draws on blues and folk music, and a little funkiness. At the moment, there’s only vocals (and a little drums I’ve played around with on a few tracks), but that’s about where I’d want the music to land. The message: A little humour, little love, little anger... flirty, a bit sexy, endlessly optimistic, but wise and a touch road-worn.

It has been suggested to me, that some folks might like English translations of my French songs. I hope to try to catch up a little at a time. Enjoy this fresh translation!

      TELL ME

      tell me your story
to fill my ears with your voice
      tell me your dreams
      to elevate my pulse
      tell me your failures
      to touch my eyes with
      your tears
and when you have no more words to share,
tell me how to kiss you

      should I kiss you softly?
should I kiss you with brutality?
should I kiss you quickly—the briefest peck of all pecks?
      or do you want
      me to kiss you
      just to the edge of
      ecstasy?

if I can give you only one kiss
      please, tell me how

      you hear
the music that I don’t sing
      you understand
      that I can’t stay
you see my fears and my fractures
      they are so black
and when I don’t want to share,
you teach me how to kiss you

      should I kiss you softly?
should I kiss you with brutality?
should I kiss you quickly—the briefest peck of all pecks?
      or do you want
      me to kiss you
      just to the edge of
      ecstasy?

if I can give you only one kiss
      please, tell me

      tell me your story
to fill my ears with your voice…

@KellyAnne: Thanks for the tip, KellyAnne... I think I'll start by branching out to Scottish... It only sounds like a new language... Like, The Piper of Dundee, for instance... :-)

@spanishlilies: Thanks very much, Steve! I guess they were just waiting in my head all my life for me to decide to let 'em out. :D

Well, the Challenge runs to the end of February, and I'm supposed to have 10 songs done. Had to take a five-day break to visit family so I'm a bit under the gun now, but I think I'll make it. I have enough written, just have to find time to get them recorded.

I'm taking a big breath and sprinting to the finish line!!

@geniegeniussoul: Thanks, Ginger! Putting together the music is harder than doing the song for me, so I really appreciate that!

@DanKellington: Thanks for that, Dan! I'll tell you a secret in case you get a notion to do it... writing & singing in a language you're perfecting is great practice. :)

      DIS-MOI

      dis-moi ton histoire
à remplir mes oreilles de ta voix
      dis-moi tes rêves
      à élever mon pouls…
      dis-moi tes échecs
      à toucher mes yeux a’ec
      tes larmes…

      dis-moi ton histoire
à remplir mes oreilles de ta voix...
