KGB024 Phil Agosta - Tribute To Detroit

3 tracks, 22.30 keith lotta KGBEATS on June 22, 2010 17:38

Get a fresh load of Detroit’s proper school!
He is the Man behind the scenes of many Detroit releases, heavy hitter on the underground rave scene, Detroit native, Mr. Phil Agosta! City's favorite 5 am deejay is now taking it prime time! For the mainstage- this is Phil Agosta’s first artist EP, and it's scheduled to be released on kgbeats in June 2010!
"Tribute to Detroit" is just that, my rendition to pay homage and give tribute to those before me that created, paved the way and allow me to do what I do today.
Phil's contribution to today's dance scene is more then 20 years of underground techno parties as a deejay, it’s days spent in studio with the fathers,it's hard work and dedication to the scene! This is why this EP is getting a lot of talk in Detroit; people hear a lot of familiar optimism, continuation of Detroit's techno tradition, as they recognize his production being deeply routed in the original style of Detroit techno!

Kevin Saunderson on Phil Agosta's track "Tribute to Detroit"
I want you to know I just listened to "Tribute to Detroit" by Phil Agosta in the studio.
It kinda reminds me of me. It has a little Kevin Saunderson flavor from my earlier years reminiscent of "Big Fun" and "Good Life" and I like that. I am gonna put this track into my set.
"Tribute to Detroit" is not overly produced, it is just right in the middle. It has a good sound to the track and it has that flavor and enough characteristics to keep the energy right. I think it sounds great.
I will be playing it in my set this weekend at Awakenings Festival 2010 in Amsterdam, and look forward to see the crowds response to it. I think it's a very well produced tune and recommend it!

March of ramexz: This one is my 1st fav. Nice groove, more on the chicago sound tip, mos def will move the floor. And White nights: this track is a dance floor mover as well, kinda gives me an updated sound of old School Detroit Techno feel.
A must have!

Punchy hype tune that has definitely has big club mainstream dance appeal Should do quite well in those markets! Tribute to Detroit is a nice bouncy energetic track reminiscent of Intercity original classic tunes, A good followup from them "dedication style"!
Track 3 March of ramez, my favorite with deep experimental feel, I think has a great late night feel with old school house overtones reminiscent of how we did it back in the day.
