She’s been dubbed the First Lady of House. She is one of one of Australia’s preeminent house DJs, ruling dance floors here and overseas for more than a decade. She is known for her unique style and knack for drawing a crowd no matter where she is playing. Not because she’s a female DJ or another blonde chick DJ – but because she’s a shit hot DJ. She is Kate Monroe, and she rocks the house with her sassy, sultry, spanking, driving house beats.

Recently being signed as an endorsed artist for Native Instruments digital controller the Traktor S4 Kate’s amazing musical knowledge and smooth mixing skills are about to take a huge leap.
Trakor S4 will be the keystone in unleashing and defining the diversity of her sound, be that under the Opera House for New Years Eve. In Australia’s best bars and festivals or late at night at a steamed-up club playing to cutting-edge dance music lovers – loving all of it and retaining her signature style.

Kate has played with every major club in Australia: Home, Ivy, Tank, Soho, Cargo, Family, Platinum...you name it, gathering a devoted fan base on the way. Her residency atthe iconic Sublime (Home Nightclub) helped earn the club ‘Best Club in Australia’ at the National Dance Music Awards for four years running.

This Mardi-Gras Season in Sydney 2011 Kate was booked for an unprecedented number of gigs in the festival. Harbour Party with 100% Daywash at Lady Macquaries Chair, Tongue Twister at Arthouse, The Mardi Gras Party warming up for Frankie Knuckles, and Toybox at Luna Park.
Kate Monroe’s name has been synonymous with big parties Mardi Gras, Sleaze Ball, Ministry Of sound, Harbour Party, and Field Day - not to mention offshore gigs in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and Kuala Lumpur and the USA Her most recent overseas stint was a tour of the USA including a set at the legendary Winter Party in Miami.

Kate is as much a natural in front of a microphone as she is behind the decks, with stints as a guest presenter on Triple J, Channel V, The Joint and Alchemy on SBS. In 2010 she was the parade DJ for Foxtel’s Mardi Gras broadcast along with Kitty Glitter. Kate’s sound has been featured on multiple compilations for SONY, Shock and a suite of independent labels.

Kate’s personality and professionalism ensure that she is entrusted with some of the biggest celebrations in Australian history, including the Sydney Olympics Closing Ceremony in front of 60,000 people. She’s been handed the reins of the Lord Mayor’s New Year’s Eve Party for four years running. Kate was behind the decks at Astral Bar for the launch of Seal’s Soul album. She’s filled floors at some of the country’s coolest corporate gigs, including the Cartier “Love” Campaign, , the opening of the first MAC store in Sydney, product launches for Estee Lauder and L’Oreal, Harley Davidson, and Christmas parties for Saatchi and Saatchi. Always behind a good cause, Kate has performed pro bono at gigs like the Camp Quality Supper Club in conjunction with Chandon in Melbourne and Sydney

She has also been a contributor to the ARIA Dance Chart for nearly 10 years. Helping inform the ears of the Australian Public to the newest sounds from around the globe.
