Other news: So pleased to have been named soundscape and field recording artist of the year for 2012 by A Closer Listen.
''Our artist of the year in (the soundscape and field recording) category is Kate Carr, who is not only represented by her own work (Return to New Caledonia), but by her Flaming Pines label’s brand-new Birds of a Feather series. As both artist and executive, Carr continues to set a high standard for the industry''. -- A Closer Listen.
I am interested in drones, ambient sounds, the glockenspeil, harps, ebowed guitar and shoegaze music as well as field recordings with a strong sense of place.
