About

Composer, flutist, synthesist, EWI-ist, and digital orchestrator, Kat Epple, has released twenty-eight albums internationally, is an Emmy and Peabody Award winner, and was a member of the classic Electronic Space Music duo "Emerald Web," which was nominated for a Grammy in 1986.

Her original music compositions for television and film scores include: National Geographic, Nova, CNN, Carl Sagan, The Travel Channel, History Channel, The Guiding Light, PBS, Apple Computers, and NASA among others.

Kat Epple has performed at The United Nations, National Gallery, London's Union Chapel, Guggenheim Museums, MoMA, and for President Bill Clinton at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, She performs concerts as a solo artist, and with various ensembles, including The Devin Townsend Project, Merce Cunningham Dance Company, Symphony Orchestras, White Crow, Katalyst Project, Sonic Combine and Emerald Web.

In addition to specializing in synthesis, EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument), and digital orchestration, she has traveled the globe, collecting indigenous flutes from various cultures, and often incorporates their unique sounds in her original compositions.
