About
Living in BC, Canada. Web professional for money, musician for life. Major influences include Hendrix, Marley, Dylan, Blondie, George Jones, Willie Nelson, Dolly, Emmylou, Byrds, Sabbath, Scorpions, Meters, etc. I write and sing, play guitar - acoustic and electric, and dabble in piano, drums, bass, and any other instrument that happens to be lying around.
Thanks for checkin' me out :-)
UPDATE: obviously I have no talent at all when it comes to the technical side of things, ie production, soooooo, if anyone out there is even remotely interested in producing for/with me, that would be really rather cool. I don't expect any money, ie to "get signed" or anything like that, I'd just like to have my songs be more accessible to your average public listener :)

Raw power, love it!
I was thinking about it and one of the reasons I like your version so much better is because I can actually relate to it. The CCrows song sounds like "oh poor rock-star cocaine me, I'm so sad I have to fly around the world and find some more groupies to screw". I just don't care. Your version on the other hand is something everyone can relate to :)
@Nick Cave thanks man :) Yeah I'm living in a basement suite at the moment so had to give my drum kit to a friend, so I'm just using some crappy built-in Garageband loops, which don't inspire me to give them proper levels.
Hey Eric, thanks for the education :) I don't really listen to mainstream radio so I'd never heard the CCrows song. I just listened to it now though, and your take on it is totally superior in my humble opinion. Your voice is much stronger than the CCrows singer :) I assume the CCrows song was not a well known hit, so I see no reason why this couldn't stand on it's own (you'd probably have to share writing credit with them). Wicked good job man!
I'd go back into the vocal here, which would knock off 20 seconds, prime for radio play.
Damn dude, I was stoked on my new song, then I heard this. This is a huge hit man. Do you have anyone selling this? I am very curious about you...
Well I don't know "who it is" but one would assume it's somebody in Seattle, and his name may actually be Nick Cave. Whatever, I don't really care. This song is another reason why "Nick Cave" is my favorite artist on SC. Bravo, great song Nick!
yeah it's like gospel Leonard Cohen from outer space... very cool man!
very good melody, nice and smooth :)
I love this track! I heard this on the radio a few years ago driving through Portland OR (on 93.1 El Ray I believe), I never thought I'd find it, and I never did until now when I ran across it here totally by chance :) I've always been curious, how much of this is computer generated and how much of it is live musicians?
Love the full saturated sound you get here :) Great story line as well, and if it were glammed up it would having something very T-Rex about it (and not just the title ;-) )
Hey thanks Nate :) Yeah everyone (that I know anyway ;-) ) is telling me that this one has something special going on. I'm pretty stoked on it, just gotta find time to "do something with it". I'm just finishing up at work but am looking forward to checking out your recent tune this evening :)
@terminill: country as cow shit I reckon ;)
very nice here
nice song indeed
Moto Boy is amazing as always, I love his work!
sounds like a pre-vocals version ;) it's pretty good...
@Forss: awesome, the SC team is setting the gold standard :P
@Forss: thanks man :)
I like it, has me thinking of Beatles, Blondie, and VU :)
authentic garage sound!
Very interesting comments here... Personally I don't like the spam sharing, but I see both points of view. In the end it comes down to the system, SoundCloud has set it up in such a way so that this is the method that is available to promoters. I think SoundCloud needs to change the way this works so it's not so spammy :) This is obviously one of the reasons people spam follow as well, so yeah, this area needs some attention imho.
feelin' it... sad and beautiful... and the title is perfect, life... you just never know when it's gonna get poured out of your body and back into the earth
the 'strings' are a nice touch, well done!
very nice here
@theroyalty: for me, as a Hendrix loving guitar player, the backwards guitar riff *is the hook* but I'm sure there is a proper hook that I'm overlooking ;-) I'm really impressed with the stuff ya'll are laying down, getting yer shit that slick is a total mystery to me.
@gottolovehouse: yes the sound is horrible on this. I just brought my laptop into my son's room and used his $50 electric guitar and crappy brittle little practice amp and recorded this. I've been carrying the riff around in my head for 15 years and just wanted to see what it sounds like now that I'm a better player. I hope to do a new version of this soon...
@gottolovehouse: thank you :) yes I admit I'm a reverb junkie, and most of my stuff so far is Push Record and see what you can catch. with more practice and collaboration I hope to produce better music :)
@KARST: yeah I've played around with audacity before, but this would have been a good place to use it. thanks for the reminder :)
Nice backwards guitar track/hook, I dig it
very nice!
cool, thought it was a horn at first
Very musical, good work here :)
this song totally kills at with big speakers and higher volumes, I love it!
Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! This cut rules, best rockin' guitar vehicle I've heard in a long time. Thank you so much :)
the world's longest fade ;)
Lanois-esque, I dig it
@Silentmusic: man I've got some serious gear envy looking at your studio there :) And now I have another mic to buy when I win the lottery he he. Very much looking forward to your next track upload...
I love the presence of the vocals :) What mic did you use for this?
@the Observer: funny you should say that. I'd never heard of him until last week when one of my friends said exactly the same thing :)
