Junk Esquire is a rocking Australian band whom after a successful band and album launch in Perth Australia (2010), picked up and moved to London in early 2012. With the aims to slay dragons and make a name for themselves, Junk Esquire will impregnate your ears at every chance.
The bands influences are a mash-up of Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and Creedence Clearwater Revival mixed up with a little John Mayer and the Beatles. Bluesy, riffing rock with heartfelt, singer-songwriter styled ballads, the music soars in the live setting and appeals to the darkest places in your heart and loins.
Spearheaded by lead singer and bassist Aaron Spiers, the band consists of two other Aussies in Will Udall (guitar) and Miikey Dean Smith (drums). Collectively they have played with Ben Lee, Julien Lennon, Mick Quin (Supergrass), The West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Kate Ceberano, Guy Sebastian and supported Leo Sayer, Arrested Development, Derek Trucks, The Allman Brothers, James Brown, Ric Vito (Fleetwood Mac), Richard Bona, Macy Grey, Roots Manoova, Pendulum, The Tea Party, Diesel, Paul Dempsey, Old Man River, Lior and Marina Prior.
“…the sound on (the album) Fade to Black is raw and honest without the sugar coating and multiple clichés so many songwriters seem to fall into. A mixture of bluesy-rock and softer ballads the album provides the listener opportunity to sit back and contemplate clever lyrics and haunting melodies or to groove along to catchy bass-lines supported by Spiers’ rough yet effortless voice.”
- Lauren Norton (Total Hits)
The band has a debut album titled Fade To Black, which is independently sold from junkesqiure.com, CdBaby and iTunes. It features 11 tracks written, recorded, and mastered in Fremantle, Australia. Junk Esquire also has a live album in the works, due for release in mid-2012.
