Old School from the album, "Hip Hop Beats" by J. Tweli
"Hip Hop Beats is, you know, a back to basics approach on Hip Hop, and also a labor of love," says Julian Tydelski aka J. Tweli on the LP release simply entitled, "Hip Hop Beats". A Rap listener since 1982 he has seen and heard a lot. "I frequently listen back to records I love that have been released through the years - artists like L.L., Mantronix, EPMD, Native Tongues, Egyptian Lover, etc. and producers like Marley Marl, Pal Joey, Da BeatMinerz, etc. and instantly feel a rush of excitement. Some mellow, some in your face, all with their own vibe, and all maintaining an edge. The music on this release was created with that same feeling in mind, that same sensibility," says the native New Yorker who happens to reside in Southern California. "This is all about the vibe," smiles Julian while he juggles doubles of an old disco 12" single.
The album was entirely created by Julian himself and contains 10 tracks perfect to compliment MC's, DJ's, B-Boys, B-Girls and really anyone who has a love for Hip Hop.
