Breakbeat from late 90s I made to mix with Drum & Bass at the time.

I had no effects or plugins whatsoever in my outdated sequencer, and no effects loop on my audio interface. For the flange/envelopey effect, I slowly twisted knobs during a live dump onto DAT.

At the end of the 90s I used to make a lot of dub plates to play out before I got my CD burner in 2000. When I played the Dub Plate of this track at Drinkland for Test Press Sundays, everyone was dancing their asses off, it was a crazy night and I didn't drop this acetate until after 3 AM, then Krust asked what it was. It meant the world to me because every drum and bass DJ and producer in NYC that I had played the track for had not understood it, they HATED it. "Where's the compression on the snares?" or "That bass isn't bassy enough!" both valid criticisms I guess if I was trying to emulate the same Metalheadz and Ram Trilogy tracks they were? Instead I was trying to be original and make tracks that I thought were funky and made me dance around my little computer room in front of the monitors. Thank you, Krust. Thank you Swingsett and Thank you TC Izlaam, the only 3 motherfuckers who got it. I admit, it is a low fidelity piece of music, but if it makes you even nod your head a little, I did my job.
