Musical INFLUENCES: There are so many patches of influences when it comes to my life in music. What I can say is that ” if it catches my ear it’s probably good”.

The Phx House Dj (Joseph Nast): I was born from a boombox… As a kid in the 80′s breakdancing and Technics was something
that you could not escape from, it was on the streets, in your homes and on the tv. Living in the 90′s was more of a life changing decade for me. I was a freshmen in high school when i got my first real
taste of hardware based music(synths, beat machines, ect.). Next I found myself at break-ins and underground parties (rave’s you would know them as). This is where i found myself mesmerized by what a dj did with the music that had become such a movement in my life.

I am Dj you would call …OLD SCHOOL. I am a Dj that takes pride in what he does! I believe in the fundamentals of what it means to be a Dj. Im Honest and Direct. I enjoy to just kick it and spin music for great people and with good Dj’s. I have played in many states with some small timers as well as world class talent. I have moved threw MANY styles of music to better my instincts and track composure. Im from New York But the 3 years i spent in Chi-Town made me the house Dj I am today.

I picked up break dancing on cardboard in Maine when I was six and seem to loose my way from music until I had a chance to listen to my father jam on his guitar in Hawaii, i was 8, I started to hear a passion that i did not quite understand or even pay attention too. moving forward to Tennessee, High school, 17 I had an "3rd eye experiance"that opened doors in my mind with in a pair of head phones listening to Richie Hawtin "plastic man" Sheet One in 1995 and i was a sucker for synths and beat machines after that.. but at this point it was all about new sounds and ways they sounded to me. I did not thinkmuch of how it was put together or mixed. Phoenix 18 pulled to party and the mixture of dance and electronic music moved me. Back in TN '96 met a random friend that has had the most impact in my life in the short amount of time knowing him (thanks Josh)....i was shown what a turn table did and bought my first records. I was born again.
I picked up Trance and with a hafe a create of records traveled back to Phoenix and had no funds to buy my own set up i walked on to tables out house parties for months learning what i could with no help or guidance.
I ended up in Chicago in 97-98 and had my Heart handed to me House music on a level i had never encountered. Made some great friends and connection while i was there. Had a chance to play with some real icons and Dj's that are still grinding out the air waves. No need to bring up peoples names, events or gigs. Lets just say i was apart of the seen at its peak before the rave act non-sense.
I headed back here to Phoenix in 2000 with records that where ahead of AZ at the time. Phoenix in 2000 had a big trance following then and whats funny is the music i had been picking up before my departure to Chicago was now the music being played and hear i am with Classic, Disco, Tribal, Deep house music as well D & B and Techno. .

More to come......
