About
Like the evanescent borders of music, the continental borders that divide us are ever so superficial, considering the notion that we are all citizens of the once-was continent of Pangea. While our differences are stark, and are often what distinguishes and divides us, it is faith-restoring to see how given a mutual love for music, people band together almost unconditionally. Having spent half my life in the states and half in Hong Kong, having called both places home, I consider myself a metic of both, and a citizen of all.
That being said, I have been playing guitar for about 7 years now. Though in terms of recording and production, I've only started last February. As a matter of fact, it was shortly after hearing of Nujabes' death that I decided to do a reinterpretation of 'Aruarian Dance' as a tribute for the guy, which just so happens to be my first track on soundcloud. A midi controller (Novation SL MkII), a recording interface (Apogee ONE) and a DAW upgrade (Logic Pro 9) later, I'm able to produce originals and remixes from which I hope you'll find joy, rhythm and solace.
Check out my side project Sonic MSG where I work with a turntablist in making some sample-based funky electronic tracks.
