Jonny (Jonathan Wood) was first introduced to the sounds of dance music at the tender age of 15, back in 1998. It was a time of tracks like Energy 52 'cafe del mar', Veracocha 'carte blanche' and Binary Finary. He quickly developed a taste for all things house, trance and generally 4/4. This progressed through his clubbing days into a love of the harder end of the house scene and by 18 Jonny had purchased his first set of decks and was spinning tracks from Tidy, and Nukleuz to a small after-hours house party crowd. This led to gigs at various student nights and parties, including a spot at Chichester Uni's 'Z Bar' and Brannigans.
The next break was when he joined forces with two other local djs for 'Spread the word', a hard dance night based at Horshams Horse&Groom. He then also made guest appearances at various clubs along the south coast including Club7 in Brighton and the Mud Club. Progressively his tastes have moved away from the hard scene, slowing the bpms back down, playing funky, prog and tech house at various local Horsham bars, holding ressidencies at Bar vin for 'Lush', B52s for 'Funked' and The Anchor for 'Back2Basics'…
Currently delving back into the more serious side of house, Jonny is shaping his sound into a more deep techy house vibe, inspired by the Circo loco scene. Always pumping a fun uplifting funk twist into his sounds and not forgetting to inject the energy into his sets that he learned to use through years of playing hard dance…..
Aswel as playing solo, he has joined forces with an old friend and colleague to create the dj duo 'RACH12', already gaining notoriety with SouthCoast sessions, djing at venues such as 'H Bar' brighton.
Jonny's current inspiration is from djs and producers such as Huxley, The martinez bros, Leftwing & Kody and Hot since 82…..
