Hey, my name's Joachim, I'm 20 and I'm a french music producer.

The music I'm currently composing is quite electronic but I used to compose in a much more ambient style (sometimes trip hoppy) and was before in a rock band as a guitarist.

My interest in composing music is to create tracks which are firstly likeable but if possible innovative. I'm looking for 'the' specific gap between two poles : Experimentation and Musicality.

I like bands such as Pink Floyd, Archive (Londinium), Battles, and more recently Boards of Canada and Mount Kimbie but also artists like Chapelier Fou, Flying lotus, James Blake, Burial or Nicolas Jaar. I used to listen to a lot of electronic dub, and bands like High Tone or Brain Damage probably influenced me as well, but in a more subtle way...
Classical music is also one of the thing I like the most, probably because I'm a music student (and need to learn all those old music theories) but also because I've been listening and playing (the piano) it for years. I guess it inspired me a lot in the way that I like to look for musicality in my tracks (melodies, chords progressions..)
I also have been inspired a lot by old french movies such as Pierrot le Fou, Une Femme est une Femme, Les 400 coups, Le Signe du Lion or Les Cousins... But also older german movies such as M, Metropolis or The Sunrise. You can sometimes hear some samples in my tracks from the movies I really enjoyed.
