PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE I've been into electronic music since I was about eleven, back then I was mainly into the early rave acts such as the prodigy, messiah and sl2, but as I was given a walkman for a christmas present I soon discovered pirate radio stations like phantasy FM. From here I progressed with the music as it changed from what is now referred to as oldskool and hardcore into jungle techno and jungle. I was often found in the local record shops such as ruby red records and pulserate browsing tapepacks and collecting flyers. Influences at this time were dj's like fabio and grooverider, LTJ bukem, Ellis Dee, Dj Hype, Jumpin Jack Frost and the Ron and SL sets were classic. As the sound became more structured and developed into what we know today as DRUM AND BASS influences like Micky Finn, Darren Jay and the Full cycle crew were important to me. I didn't get decks until I was about 18, but I had been collecting vinyl for many a year before this time and using friends turntables to practise on. My first exposure to producing was with software like the Ejay series such as rave ejay and techno ejay, samples which i still have in my sample collection to this day (cuz you never know when your gonna need some 8 bit samples lol) By the time Ed rush and optical, bad company, and the ram records lot were blowin up the scene I had totally got the drum and bass bug and seeing Dj Marky play in the back room at the Que club really influenced me, his head down reallly enjoying what he does and displying some proper mad skillz reinforced to me that I had to be apart of this. I've had so much enjoyment out of the music, that I can't wait to give a bit back into the scene!! ....
