Jean Michel Van Schouwburg improvising singer from Brussels region.
Has developped a large voice - mouth - throat musical & sound techniques and music since the nineties. Throat singing, overtones, jodels, mouth sounds, almost 3 octaves, falsettos, multiphonics and invented languages. Has worked with flutist Adelheid Sieuw, guitar player John Russell, saxist Gianni Mimmo, composer Dario Palermo, trombonist Paul Hubweber, pianist Marjolaine Charbin, percussionist Sabu Toyozumi, Nils Gerold & Mano Kinze, Pascal Marzan, Kostas Tatsakis, Marco Loprieno, Inaudible collective and many others. Still plays with percussionnist Kris Vanderstraeten since the eighties.
Current groups : Sureau with bass player Jean Demey and percussionnist Kris Vanderstraeten. Systers with Audrey Lauro , sax alto. MouthWind with Lawrence Casserley, live signal processing and, now, Phil Wachsmann violin.

Work with Berberian Sound Studio movie director Peter Strickland as acting his own singer persona , J-M VS. Berberian Sound Studio was awarded and was featured in too many festivals as the UK cult movie 2012.
