This a live performance recording of some music I made for a series of ten site-specific dance performances, performed by Beacon Dance in and around a stream that flows at Emory University, on the evenings of 15-19 October 2011.

I was situated under a bridge. The music is both pre-recorded and live, and runs for 45 minutes ! It varies. If you like dark ambience, try part 1a! If you prefer poppy electronica, then 1e is the place to go ! If you can't get enough of live processed sound, then part 2 is your destination ! If you pine for tightly composed metrical mallets and live violin (by guest soloist Zac Denton), then get ye to part 4 ! Or, if you want different noises and oddments, then pick anywhere...

    Program (times approximate)

    1a Wandering, lyrical, ambient: 0'00 - 5'00
    1b Metronome: 5'00 - 7'00
    1c First wall sequence (repeat of 1a+wobbles): 7'00 - 12'00"
1d Second wall sequence, slower Metronome, to creek 12'00 - 14'00
    1e In creek 14'00 - 21'00

    [audience moves] 21'00 - 23'00

    2 Duet
live processed water sounds, mbira 21'00 - 30'00

4 Emory students under bridge, unison piece 30'00 - 35'00
    with Zac Denton, violin

    5 @ Trakas 35'00 - 45'00
gathering at the branch, 'the phrase'
    lyrical & peaceful
moving downstream, gradual interaction with nature sounds
