Need a gift for a gifted musician?
Being the son of musicians, Jayce has had music in his blood his whole life- he took up piano at a very young age and played for over 10 years. His love of music knows no boundaries with regards to genres or time zones, with his all time favourite artists including Elvis Presley, Billy Joel, Joe Cocker, Luciano Pavarotti, Stevie Wonder, Metallica, Simon & Garfunkel, Dusty Springfield, and The Bee Gees just to name a few! From the first time he set foot in a nightclub he was fascinated with the art of DJing, and witnessing the way packed dancefloors responded to quality sets each week gave him aspirations to DJ at the highest level.
Starting from the ground up, he taught himself how to beat mix, before doing a couple of years mobile DJ work. Constantly working on his art and refining his sound, Jayce has been playing in the club scene for the last 10 years, having held residencies and played guest spots at some of Melbourne's premier venues including: The Viper Room, Motel, Love Machine, Ocean Blue, Watermark, Lotus Bar, Circus, Vatican, Tantra, F4, 11A, Chicane, Platform One, Brazen Lounge (Club UK), Bond Bar, Chasers, and Boutique; as well as iconic annual Australia Day dance party "Kiss My Grass" at the Myer Music Bowl (2008-2010) which is attended by over 20,000 people. In addition to these club/event gigs Jayce's sounds can also be heard on the radio; playing guest spots on Nova FM's Saturday night 'Oblivion' (2003-2004), Kiss FM's Club Lunch/Guest Mix (2006 - current), and international radio show "Functional Parts" (2009 – current).
As soon as a Jayce set begins you can instantly feel an increase in the vibe of the room! The heavy influences from Pryda / Cirez D, Stephan Bodzin, Gui Boratto, Henry Saiz, Ihab Sameh, Astronivo, Cid Inc, Quivver, Tiger Stripes, Luke Porter, Lank, Luke Chable, and D-Nox & Beckers reflect Jayce's love of deep progressive / tech sounds. Internationally, his favourite DJ's are John Digweed, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Satoshi Tomiie, and Dubfire whilst Jayce draws great inspiration from local DJ's Sean Quinn, Chris Meehan, Sam Fraser, Nik Corvo, Trav Michael's, and Steve Bleas.
