About

I am an up and coming DJ and producer with previous tracks released on Unstable Label and Sinister Recordings. My debut release as 'Ghetto Monkey' was released by Unstable Label and received DJ support from DJ Icey, Aquasky and Atomic Hooligan. My second release as Jay Rodriguez like my first was engineered by En:Vision Recordings boss Glen Future Funk Squad Nicholls and featured vocals from Andrea Britton. 'Give It Up' charted in the Top 10 for the DJ mag Breaks & Beats chart and also received Radio 1 airplay from Judge Jules four weeks running. This lead to me doing a breaks remix of the Judge Jules release 'Without Love' under my Darkside alias.
As a DJ my style is to mix breaks, dubstep, house and drum n bass (well anything with a fat bassline!!)
I went digital in 2008 ditching vinyl and now using Ableton Live as this gives me more flexibility to mix together my favourite music regardless of the BPM.
Past Plays include MoS Breaks and Babyshake/ Club Class @ The Ministry Of Sound, Flawless @ The Volks and Zap Club (Brighton), DJ Tiesto Album Launch in the Bingo/ Mixmag room @ The Brixton Academy, Cheeky People/ Gatecrasher @ Heaven (London), Kinkymalinki at the Glasshouse (London) plus loads of bars and the odd mobile disco!
