About
Jax-Urh is Stephen Richards.
Stephen began producing electronic music in 1997 in partnership with Darren "Daz" Dalton under the "Hi-Fidelity" name tag.
2008 saw the first long play project from Jax-Urh entitled "Esoteric Worlds". This was followed in 2009 by "Improvisation".
Another break from production came for the entire year of 2010 to concentrate on “Deadly Tunes FM”, an online radio playing all styles of electronic music.
The beginning of 2011 saw “Jax-Urh” experimenting with new software. Thousands of freshly cut samples led to the beginning of “Digital Vibrancy” which started in Feb and continued for the best part of the year with several EP’s and “Digital Vibrancy 2” following.
At the end of 2011, Stephen began about writing a concept style album that used the DC comics character “Jax-Ur” as the foundation for the album. After choosing the title Medusa, 15 tracks were written telling the story of Jax-Ur. The album was released in physical format in May 2012. Plans to produce visuals for the album are about to commence. This may see Jax-Urh entering the live stage for the very first time.
A break was taken in July 2012 to commence work on a documentary style movie "Two Hundred Days" which is attempting to cover the last 90 years of modern and contemporary music. The movie is expected to be completed circa mid 2013.
Towards the end of 2012, Jax-Urh begins writing some tunes, some with a political taste which may be reflecting the current state of a number of countries in the world including his home in Ireland.
The beginning of 2013 saw continued work on the movie "Two Hundred Days". Also in February, Jax-Urh set out plans to commence a new long play at some time in 2013. Expected completion and release date is 2014.
In between all projects the "Megalomaniac" EP was released in 3 parts in late April / early May. "Fine Time", the second tune from the EP was Jax-Urh's fastest playing track on Soundcloud with 100 plays in 24 hours.
