For the fourth Sunday in Lent, we sing the exquisite Introit, Laetare Jerusalem ("Rejoice Jerusalem"). This Sunday is commonly known as Laetare Sunday after this Introit; on this Sunday, the rigors of Lent are relaxed a bit, for instance, the color of the vestments are rose instead of purple.
