About

Jamez & Soulboy

Both Alex Dijksterhuis (Jamez) and Patrick Noppert (SoulBoy) have the same idea about music and that is why they work so well together.
The producers from the Netherlands met eachother two years ago and since that day the duo is on fire! Jamez already had a very good career in house music in the early and late ninetees. His projects Trancesetters, 51 days and Tatoine were bestsel...lers and most of the Touché Records tracks have been on major dj/record label compilations. As a dj Jamez played all over the world at the biggest clubs and parties next to the biggest dj’s in the scene. Ask some of the hottest names right now about Jamez and Touché Records and their eyes start to twinkle...

For SoulBoy this also is a new step in his career. Playing trance for several years under his first name Peddo he provided a great remix for Dj Astrid in the year 2000. The remix was played several times by Judge Jules in his populair BBC 1 radio show. Because of this airplay SoulBoy was asked to come and play at different countries like Israel, Spain, United States and Norway to name a few. When the love for trance disappeared the love for a deeper more soulful style appeared. In combination with the sound of Jamez they call it techgressive.
They also say they produce music in all it forms so a live dj set from Jamez & Soulboy is a mixture of techhouse, progressive and techno.

Production wise the both are really on a roll. Their first produced track Surface Tension was heavy supported by techno legend Kevin Saunderson. He supported the track all summer long last year so the track was a small hit on Ibiza with techno lovers.

After this a lot of tracks passed; like Sexy Lady on Omnis Recordings, remixes for Neverending recordings, the very good supported 24h Deepness and Halo EP on Eyepatch Recordings (Bonzai), the Crime EP on the Naked Lunch label (label for techno hero A.Paul) and their releases on the new techno label Repressure Recordings.

First there was the remix for their track Jullungull by Orlando Voorn. The dutch Detroit techno pioneer gave it a very nice twist which gave the track the support it needed from Secret Cinema for example. But their last track called Induction finally made it into the charts.
A 45th place in the Beatport Techno Chart was the result for two years of hard work.

For the future a lot of international gigs will pass and new tracks/remixes for different labels are in teh making. Keep your eyes out for the remix they did for Timo Maas which will be released somewhere around december. It will surely surprise you all!
