About

A simple man with simple pleasures, I enjoy drinking mind-altering amounts of Yorkshire Tea and making music and/or djing under various aliases such as Poly Set, Borth Sea Defence, Vales, The Lodge, Boolean Orchestra, Al Calavicci (the list goes on).

I have been playing drums since I was 11, Guitar, Bass and Keys since 18 and djing since about 20 (im 31 while writing this). I first became obsessed with electronic music when I heard 'Radiator' by the Super Furry Animals and Radiohead’s 'OK Computer'. This quickly led on to Ninja Tune, Massive Attack, Moloko, Skint Records, DJ Shadow and on to Dreamscape Jungle tape packs (yes my first rave experience was on a walkman). Being a drummer I couldn't resist the intricacy and speed of those rhythms and became hooked on Jungle and D&B.

Soon enough I had moved to Oxford where I spent 3 years happily attending Jungle, Hip Hop and Garage Parties, crate digging and exploring samples, this has been a lifelong and very rewarding education which has taken me through, Soul, Jazz, Psyche, Dub and Afrobeat to name but a few.

I now run a record label called Cambrian Line which is home to a roster of wonderful artists and have a radioshow on BLN.FM called Quantum Bleep playing all manner of music I love from Pigbag to Patrice Scott (My mum says its good).

This isn't the traditional DJ/Producer biog because I'm not a superstar, nor do I want to be. I'm the sum of my parts and when it comes down to it I'm a fan. I try in everything I do musically to display my love and respect for the music that has given me so much happiness joy and if I can pass some of that on to other people then that's proper.

For DJ bookings please contact my uncle jerry or :The Other Agency / http://theotheragency.net

Most of the music on here is just sketches if I ever finish anything I'll let you know innit
