Every now and then a band appears fully formed and displaying a confidence and sense of purpose well beyond their years; Sizarr are one of those bands, the trio’s debut EP, Boarding Time, a stunning mix of skeletal post-punk rhythms, icy synths and beautiful, melancholic vocals.
One of the most impressive debuts you’ll hear this year Boarding Time’s fragile grandeur heralds the arrival of a unique band; A band that joins the dots between Bowie’s Berlin period, Joy Division’s bleak romance, and the rhythmic experimentation of acts likes Four Tet and Caribou to mesmerizing effect.
Having won over audiences at some of Europe’s biggest festivals including Melt, Eurosonic and the Berlin Festival, interest in the band has already begun to snowball, appearing on the radar of everyone from The Guardian and Musikexpress to a legion of bloggers.
Confident to let the music shout for itself, Sizarr have been happy playing their cards close to their chest. With the release of ‘Boarding Time’ however, the decision to stay in the shadows may no longer be theirs to make. Get ready to meet your favourite new band.
The Boarding Time EP is released on 19th August and comes complete with a stunning set of remixes from some of electronicas most hotly tipped new producers; Anenon, Exeter and Yosi Horikawa.
